The Huffington Posts today reports that the autoposy has been released and in the report it says that prior to his sad suicide that he had complained about a memory loss and an inability to spell. It also confirmed he shot himself in the chest and wanted his brain to be studied to determine if he had Chronic Traumatic Ephalopathy which is a degenrative brain disease which can cause dementia, depression and suicide. This issue has been mentioned in prior posts on the probate attorney blog as it has come up a few times recently with former Chicago sports stars.
Just yesterday the NFL made a rule change to kickoffs to allow kicks to be made from a closer distance which they say is a safety issue seeking to reduce dimentia of players later on and other injuries that may result as there would likely be fewer collisions on returns. Dimentia issues are a main reason for probate litigation and will contests as they can cause lack of capacity or make a person more vulnerable to undue influence of others seeking to receive a larger share of their estate than they otherwise would.
The NFL players association during the lawsuit and potential strike are seeking to get more money for the players and prior players to seek to compensate them for the health risks they are experiencing or may do so as this seems to becoming a more frequent concern.
