CNBC reports that the annual lunch with Warren Buffett to raise money for charity set another record this year. Each year he agrees to have lunch with someone and up to 7 of their friends to help raise money for charity. A charity named Glide that is in San Francisco and helps fight poverty in the area is the beneficiary. Previous lunches began with much more modest winning bids with 2001 for example being only around 18,000 but this year someone who does not want their name disclosed agreed to pay nearly $2.63 million for the lunch. As an investing guru and running Berkshire Hathaway over the years Warren Buffett has developed a net worth of tens of billions of dollars and is the 3rd richest person in the world this year. Although as previously mentioned still lives a modest lifestyle living in a home he bought for just $31,500 over 50 years ago.
